Welcome to Holy Mercy Cross School

For over 170 years Holy Cross Mercy School has been delivering an outstanding education for all students in our care. In our school we aim to combine the best of traditional values with the very latest in teaching methods and technologies.

Holy Cross Mercy School is a Catholic School under the patronage of the Bishop of Kerry, it has seventeen mainstream classes, an Autism Unit, Special Education Teachers and Language Support Teachers. It is coeducational from Junior Infants to First Class and only girls attend from 2nd to 6th class.

which inspires enjoyment, learning and achievement. Each child’s experience is underpinned by the expectation that all members of the schools adhere to the most important school rule, which is ‘Be Kind’

We endeavour to provide our pupils with a wide range of very stimulating and exciting learning experiences . All pupils benefit from an ethos that cherishes them as individuals and is committed to each child achieving their full potential. Every child’s journey is underpinned by the school mission statement of Trust in God, Believe in yourself and Dare to Dream

We are leaders in technology, all children have access to a wide range of digital technology including iPads and flat panel screens. We are an Active School, a Green School and a Digital School of Distinction.

Dear Parents,
Over the coming weeks we hope to set up a construction, animation and coding club in our school to link in with the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) curriculum but we need your help! We need donations of Lego or Duplo pieces or sets, K’nex or other construction sets you might have at home. Please ask family and friends if they have any unwanted sets that they might like to donate.

2nd class had a 'sweet treat' this week as we took our learning out of the classroom. As part of our history topic we have been learning about shops in the past. Thanks to Niall from Granda Charlie's Auld Sweet Shop who allowed us to pay a visit. We saw alot of old artefacts and heard all about how shops were run in the past. It's safe to say this lesson was a big hit with the girls. ... See MoreSee Less
